How long do we keep personal information about you

By law, we are required to hold certain information about you, even after you are no longer a BBC customer. However, after such time you can be assured we will destroy your personal information thoroughly and safely. We may also hold certain information about you if it is needed for a purpose which you are aware of or reasonably expect us to hold the information. When that information is no longer needed, it will be destroyed or permanently de-identified. Other information such as details held on the BBC Rewards section of our website can also be removed at your request and usually become inactive when you have not used the BBC Rewards section of our website for more than 12 months.
